Cricketer Sandeep to play CPL from Trinbago



KATHMANDU: Nepali cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane has said it will play Caribbean Premier League (CPL), 2021, representing Trinbago Knight Riders.

Issuing a notice on Tuesday, the CPL confirmed that Lamichhane will participate in the Twenty20 match from Trinbago.

Trinbago has already retained 11 players of the defending champion team last year including spinners Sunil Narine and Khary Pierre.

Captained by Kieron Pollard, Trinbago team includes Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza, America’s Ali Khan and New Zealand’s Ballina Manor.

Trinbago is the franchise team of Kolkata Night Riders owned by renowned Bollywood stars, Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and her spouse Jay Mehta. Brendon McCullum is the coach of the team.

Sandeep, who has already played CPL from three different teams, has recently been released by Jamaica Tallawahz.
