Speaker Agni Sapkota to consult former speakers today



KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota is making preparations to consult with former speakers on the current political stalemate.

Speaker Sapkota has called former speakers to the office of the federal parliament secretariat in Singha Durbar at 1 pm today, said NC senior leader and former speaker Ram Chandra Poudel.

The Nepali politics has been in turmoil after Bidya Bhandari dissolved the House of Representatives (HoR) on the recommendation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

Demanding the reinstatement of the HoR, as many as 146 lawmakers on Monday filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court.

Speaker Sapkota is holding a meeting with former speakers to discuss the current political developments and take suggestions from them, said Sapkota’s secretariat.
