KATHMANDU: Police have recovered the body of a couple, who had been missing since last month, in Mahottari Thursday.
Musafir Jha, 65, and his wife Gita Devi Jha, 60, of Pipara Rural Municipality-5 were missing since February 22.
According to Province 2 Police Chief Deputy Inspector General Dhiraj Pratap Singh, the couple was found buried on the roadside, along the road to Attara, in Pipara-2. The couple’s home is nearly 3.5 kilometers away from the site where their bodies were recovered, police said.
A local reported to police after he spotted the couple’s body wrapped in a sack while he was digging near the site.
Police dug out the couple’s body and their identification was confirmed by the couple’s son and daughter-in-law.
Earlier, police had arrested four persons on the charge of kidnapping Jha couple. Jha family had registered a case with police against the four on March 18. The arrested have been identified as Ram Babu Yadav, 52, his sons Surendra, 26, and Rajendra, 24, of Pipara-5. The fourth person was Harendra Thakur, 50, a Indian national.
According to police, traces of human blood were found at Yadav family’s house.
