KATHMANDU: Police have arrested more than two dozen human rights activists, including Krishna Pahadi from Baluwatar Monday.
Dozens of people had assembled in front of the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar to protest against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
The arrested human rights activists are kept in Nepal Police Club, Exhibition Road.
Together with the civil society leaders, human rights activists are also agitating saying that Prime Minister KP Oli has taken unconstitutional steps to dissolve the House of Representatives by abusing the state power.
After the dissolution of the House of Representatives on December 20, PM Oli government has announced a mid-term election on April 30 and May 10.
Skeptic about the honesty of the government and concerned at the breach of constitutional norms and values, people of various sectors have condemned the PM’s move.
