Will attend Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit and hold talks with Indian PM Modi

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is set to visit neighboring India on January 9, 2022, to attend Vibrant Gujrat Global Summit-2022.

The 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit will be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is also the architect of the summit, on January 10 at Mahatma Mandir Convention Center, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, in the presence of Heads of States, Ministers, global business leaders and CEOs, ambassadors, officials from multilateral institutions, trade and business organizations from across the world.

An invitation to attend the summit was received from the Indian side to PM Deuba who has also asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to begin preparations for his participation.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry is working to finalize the dates of the visit and PM’s address to the summit in one of the sessions.

PM Deuba is also to meet his Indian counterpart Modi on the sidelines of the summit. “However, the venue of the bilateral meet is yet to be ascertained. It is not yet clear whether the two prime ministers will hold talks in Gandhinagar itself or in Delhi,” a MoFA source said.

The two prime ministers had extended an invitation to visit each other’s country during their meeting at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP-26) in Glasgow, UK, in October.
