Migrant worker’s minimum salary in Qatar exceeds Rs 50,000

KATHMANDU: The Qatar government has hiked the salaries of migrant workers.

According to a report made public by the Qatar Embassy in Kathmandu, a migrant worker now will receive minimum Qatari Riyal 1,800 (More than Rs 50,000 per month) with the new salary adjustment.

Earlier, a migrant worker used to draw Qatar Riyal 1,000 (less than Rs 30,000) in salary per month.

Currently, there are more than 100,000 Nepali migrant workers working in Qatar,.

With the new increment, 308,146 migrant workers have started receiving Qatari Riyal 1,800, according to the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs of the Qatar government.
