Three including driver missing as Pokhara-bound car plunges into Trishuli

KATHMANDU: Three persons have gone missing after a car en-route to Pokhara from Kathmandu plunged into the Trishuli River in Ichchhakamana rural municipality-5 at the wee hours on Saturday.

According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, three persons, including the driver, went missing after the car (Ga. 2 Cha 4918) skidded off the road and fell into the Trishuli River about 35 meters below the road at around 12:30 am.

Those missing in the river are 55-year-old Prem Bahadur Bhujel, Lekh Bahadur Bhujel, 55, and his wife Ishwori Bhujel, 36, of Pokhara Metropolitan City-17, said police.

Similarly, Rudralal Subedi, 46, of Pokhara Metropolitan City-17, who was traveling in the car, has sustained injuries. Subedi is undergoing treatment at Old Medical College in Chitwan.

Police said a rescue operation is underway since early morning. The cause behind the accident is yet to be investigated.
