Airport security nabs youth trying to fly abroad with marijuana

KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan International Airport Security has nabbed a youth carrying marijuana in his luggage from the airport on Tuesday.

According to TIA sources, Buddhi Raj Pathak, 29, of Khaireni-10, Chitwan has been arrested.

Pathak was on a Qatar Airways flight to Doha.

“During the screening at the departure hold baggage checking area for international flights, 800 grams of marijuana was found in his luggage,” the source said.

A team from the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested him with marijuana and handed him over to the airport police.

The investigation is underway, the police said.
