UML to announce Youth Force valley command

KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML is set to announce Kathmandu Valley command of its youth organization Youth Force at a program in Kathmandu Saturday.

UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is expected to make the announcement of the valley-level committee of Youth Force at the event to be held at Karki Banquet in Babar Mahal, Kathmandu.

Before the event started, Youth Force cadres rallied from Maitighar to New Baneshwor in a show of force.

The UML revived its formerly-dissolved aggressive youth outfit last week as UML Chair Oli was set to leave the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar.

UML leader Mahesh Basnet earlier shared that Kshitiz Thebe and Pushpa Shrestha were picked co-chairs of Youth Force.

The UML had first formed the Youth Force in 2008 to counter the erstwhile UCPN (Maoists) close Young Communist League (YCL), which was relatively of combatant nature.
