Controversial issues might be raised to break the alliance: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that some forces are striving their vest to break the ruling alliance by putting the ‘controversial’ issues like MCC.

Speaking at a program organized on Saturday to mark the 8th memorial day of communist leader Nar Bahadur Karmacharya in Paris Danda, Maoist Chairman Prachanda said that some forces are working persistently to split the alliance and he has been working hard to foil their attempts.

“There was an attempt to break the alliance, we managed to save it. Attempts are still being made to demolish it by arousing controversial issues,” he said.

Without naming CPN-UML leader Bhim Rawal, Prachanda remarked that some comrades from the alliance have been provoked differently and the recent resignation from the post of lawmaker is one of the attempts to weaken the alliance.

Stating that a great battle has been won by saving the constitution, Prachanda said that there are still some tough challenges.

He also remarked that some leaders like UML Chairman KP Oli are working frantically to create obstacles everywhere.
