KATHMANDU: As many as 29 legal practitioners, on behalf of the writ petitioners, are scheduled to argue before the Constitutional Bench of the Supreme Court (SC) on the dissolution of House of Representatives (HoR) Friday.
The bench had allotted 12 hours to plaintiffs for the initial hearing and fixed daily four hours for the hearing session.
The 29 legal practitioners, set to talk on the floor Friday, have been allotted from 3 minutes to 30 minutes. Debate time was fixed by holding discussions with them.
The initial 12 hours of hearing allotted to petitioners will conclude Friday.
Senior advocates Krishna Prasad Bhandari and Sati Krishna Kharel have been provided the maximum time — 30 minutes — to present their case Friday.
Similarly, former Attorney General Muktinarayan Pradhan will debate for 25 minutes. Senior Advocate Baburam Kunwar and Advocate Dr. Bhimarjun Acharya will debate for 20-20 minutes. Advocate Tikaram Bhattarai has 15 minutes to debate.
The remaining are allotted a minimum of 3 to 10 minutes.
The defendants’ debate on the writ petition will begin Sunday and they have been allotted 15 hours.
The writ petitioners will have 3 hours towards the end to respond to the defendants’ queries and arguments.
