Province 2 witnesses 131 fresh cases of COVID-19 in 24 hrs



JANAKPURDHAM: Province 2 witnessed 131 fresh cases of coronavirus in past 24 hours.

According to Provincial Health Directorate sources, 131 swabs tested in various hospitals in the province came out with coronavirus positive report in past 24 hours.

Parsa witnessed 66 new cases on Saturday.

Similarly, 32 people in Rautahat, 16 in Dhanusha, 12 in Bara, four in Mahottari and one in Siraha also tested coronavirus positive.

The tests were carried out at the Provincial Public Health Laboratory, Janakpurdham, Gaur Hospital, Rautahat and Narayani Hospital, Birgunj.

In the meantime, the number of infected people in the province has reached 18,265.

Likewise, the number of active infected people in the province has again exceeded one thousand. There are 1050 active cases as of Saturday.

Out of the active cases, 1,006 are in home isolation and 44 are in institutional isolation, the health directorate said.

217 people have died of coronavirus infection in the province so far.
