Banke reports seven new deaths linked with COVID-19



NEPALGUNJ: Seven people have died from COVID-19 in Banke district in the past 24 hours.

A 61-year-old man infected with COVID-19 passed away in the course of treatment at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj on early Saturday.

Originally from Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan City-10, the sexagenarian had been admitted to the isolation ward of Bheri Hospital on April 21 after testing positive for COVID-19, said Tej Wali, the resource person of District COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC).

A total of seven people passed away due to COVID-19 in Banke in the past 24 hours, according to Wali.

A 71-year-old woman of Janaki rural municipality-1, Banke, 28-year-old man of Baijanath rural municipality-6, 56-year-old man of Bangad Kupinde municipality-3, Salyan died on Friday morning.

Similarly, a 42-year-old man of Rajapur municipality-9, Bardiya and a 65-year-old man of Baijanath rural municipality passed away on Friday afternoon.

Likewise, a 35-year-old man of Nepalgunj Sub Metropolitan City, Tribhuvan Chowk died in the course of treatment at Bheri Hospital, Nepalgunj.

With this, the number of deaths from COVID-19 in Banke has climbed to 76.

As many as 250 new COVID-19 cases were found during PCR tests carried out at Bheri Hospital this morning. The infection was diagnosed in 250 individuals out 269 swabs collected in the last 24 hours.

Similarly, a 62-year-year-old man infected with COVID-19 died in the course of treatment in Dang. He was undergoing treatment at coronavirus special hospital in Ghorahi. Originally from Ghorahi Sub Metropolitan City-15, he passed away on Friday night, said Dorna Wali, the manager of coronavirus special hospital, Beljhundi.
