Province 1 Chief Minister Rai calls PP meeting



KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of State 1 Sherdhan Rai has called a meeting of the CPN-UML parliamentary party Wednesday.

The meeting has been called first time after the Supreme Court revived the CPN-UML and the UCPN (Maoist) Center.

Chief Minister Rai convened the meeting to discuss the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Rai and the current political developments.

The ruling CPN-UML has 50 MPs in the State 1 state assembly out of which 16 are close to the Madhav Kumar Nepal faction.

Chief Whip of the party Buddhi Kumar Raj Bhandari said all the lawmakers have been informed to participate in the meeting.

Meanwhile, Rajendra Rai, a lawmaker close to the Nepal faction, said they would not participate in the meeting.
