KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Standing Committee of the Nepal Communist Party of Nepal (NCP) KP Oli faction has decided to implement the Supreme Court’s verdict to convene the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) within 13 days.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the PM Oli faction’s Standing Committee held at the PM’s official residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday afternoon, faction’s Spokesperson Pradip Gyawali said.

Gyawali said that the parliament meeting would be convened within the stipulated time as per the court order.

He also said that they would move forward by implementing the court’s decision and abide by it.

The session of Parliament will be convened within the time limit given by the court, he added.

Gyawali, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs, said that meeting also decided to respect the decision of the SC to dissolve the House.

The SC had on Tuesday ordered the government to summon the House session within the next 13 days.

The SC, in a landmark verdict, had reinstated the dissolved HoR on Tuesday.

Likewise, today’s meeting also decided to convene a meeting of the party’s central committee and parliamentary party.

Asked whether Prime Minister Oli would resign after the dissolution of the House, Minister Gyawali said the necessary decision would be taken after assessing the situation.

The Standing Committee will meet again on Thursday.
