KATHMANDU: Chief Justice (CJ) Cholendra Shamsher Rana has said that the court will not be affected by any external factors.

His response came after senior advocate Dinesh Tripathi, during today’s hearing on the House dissolution case, claimed that Prime Minister KP Oli was “trying to influence” the judiciary.

Chief Justice Rana ruled that the court would not be influenced by any element or factor.

Advocate Tripathi had earlier claimed that Prime Minister Oli alleged the advocates of making “fun” of the case.

Soon after Tripathi’s claim, Chief Justice Rana said that even the former Prime Ministers were speaking against the dignity of the court and made it clear that the court would not listen to the voices raised in the market.

“Most of the former PMs have been openly speaking on the issue. We will not be influenced by the voices being raised in the streets,” CJ Rana said.

He said that the priority was to resolve the case as soon as possible by focusing on the writs filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
