Bomb blast at Surkhet community forest injures two persons



KATHMANDU: A bomb explosion at Katkuwa Community Forest in Birendranagar Municipality-7, Surkhet, has injured two persons on Saturday morning.

District Police Office Surkhet Spokesperson DSP Ram Prasad Gharti said the injured have been identified as Lila Nepali, 21, of Gurans Rural Municipality-6 of Dailekh and her brother Naresh Pariyar, 14. The two had gone to the community forest to collect fodder.

The injured are being treated at Deuti Hospital in Surkhet. The hospital said the condition of one of the injured is critical.

“An explosion occurred at 10:45 this morning in the community forest. An investigation is underway to ascertain who planted the bomb and how it was detonated,”  said DSP Gharti.
