MCC will not cause rift in ruling coalition: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has assured that Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact will not dismantle the ruling coalition.

Speaking at a program in Kavre Thursday, Prachanda said the alliance was more important to the ruling parties than the MCC agreement.

“The coalition built an understanding that the MCC is not its main priority, the alliance is more important. We have agreed on this,” he assured.

Prachanda also charged that a plot is being hatched to shatter the coalition by bringing up the issue of MCC. “Many are dreaming of souring relations between Nepali Congress President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and me,” he said.

He was of the view that MCC should be revised and ratified.
