KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has started discussion regarding making some changes to its upcoming 14th general convention schedule.

During a meeting of the NC office-bearers and former office-bearers held today, Joint General Secretary of the party, Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, shared that discussion was held to make some changes to the convention schedule to organise the general convention on the slated time.

Party’s Central Election Committee and Active Membership Investigation Committee Coordinators presented the preliminary reports in the meeting held at NC President and Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba’s private residence at Budhanilkantha.

Leader Mahat said that the meeting of the party office-bearers to be held again on Saturday might take necessary decision regarding making changes in general convention schedule after discussion on both reports.

The NC had set a deadline of July 14 to submit the list of active members to the Central Election Committee signed by the Central President. It is confirmed that the general convention schedule would be affected as there is still dispute on the issue of active membership in some districts.

The Central Working Committee of the NC held on June 18 had passed the amended schedule to hold 14th general convention in Kathmandu from September 1-4.
