Senior UML leader Nepal mocks Chairman Oli for granting amnesty, calls him His Majesty

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML’s senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has scoffed at party Chairman KP Sharma Oli for declaring amnesty, calling Oli His Majesty.

Speaking at a program organized to mark Pushpalal Memorial Day in Kathmandu Friday, leader Nepal said, “His Majesty yesterday remarked all members of the disgruntled faction would be granted amnesty. Amnesty is granted.”

Nepal sarcastically added, “Some of us have been elated. His Majesty’s proclaimed. His Highness is very happy that he granted us a general amnesty.” He added if this was their progress? “Is this called what is the communist attitude?”

Leader Nepal was of the view that Oli’s behavior had not changed even after being ousted from power. He said people hoped that he would amend his way but to no avail.
