KATHMANDU: Effigies of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and President Bidhya Devi Bhandari were burned in protest of the dissolution of parliament in Kailali Sunday.

Cadres of CPN (Maoist Center) affiliated Youth Communist League (YCL) burned the effigies at Sadepani Chowk of Ghodaghodi Municipality in protest of House dissolution move. Slogans against the PM and President were also chanted during the demonstration.

YCL cadres chanted slogans saying that the people’s health and the constitution should not be jeopardized, there should be adequate provisions of oxygen, medicine and ICU immediately. They also said that the need of the country was oxygen and ICUs rather than election.

Binod Adhikari, Maoist Center Sudurpaschim Provincial Committee of YCL, said that the dissolution of the parliament for the second time was an autocratic and totalitarian step. Reminding that the parliament was reinstated by the Supreme Court, he said the move was regressive.
