PM Oli criticizes NC for coalition with Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli has criticized Nepali Congress (NC) for the latter’s coalition with CPN-Maoist Center leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

In an interaction with journalists affiliated to Press Chautari on Sunday afternoon, the PM accused NC of discarding democracy and following Prachanda’s guidelines.

“The so-called democratic party NC has embraced Prachandapath with Prachanda as its mentor,” the PM said, adding, “No democrat can oppose the idea of going to election for people’s fresh mandate.”

He lambasted NC leaders’ remarks that they would not take part in the election under his premiership.

“What type of democratic nature is it not to accept the election carried out under the premiership of a person who got the majority in the parliament?” PM Oli asked, adding sarcastically, “Wasn’t it under the election conducted by NC that the party got merely 23 seats in the House of Representatives?”

PM Oli also criticized the press saying they have been making a mole hill of the COVID-19 crisis.

“They are giving space to woes and sufferings of the public rather than assuring them about their health by highlighting the good deeds of the government,” he said.

He blamed the leaders in opposition alliance for the poor performance of the government and complained he was disturbed from work from the very beginning.
