Collection of lawmakers’ signatures to be submitted at SC underway at Singha Durbar



KATHMANDU: Lawmakers of the opposition parties have started collecting signatures to file a writ petition in the Supreme Court (SC) against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

The process of collecting lawmakers’ signatures is underway at the office of the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party at Singha Durbar.

Lawmakers from Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, Janata Samajbadi Party, CPN-UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal faction, and Rastriya Janamorcha are signing the petition.

A meeting of the top leaders of the five parties had on Saturday concluded that the dissolution of the House of Representatives was unconstitutional and decided to file a writ petition at the Supreme Court.
