HoR meeting begins in New Baneshwor



KATHMANDU:  A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) started at the federal parliament building in New Baneshwor on Tuesday.

According to the agenda unveiled by the parliament secretariat, Prime Minister KP Oli will present an annual report of the fiscal year 2019/20 of the Judicial Council and Judicial Service Commission and the annual report of the Office of the  Attorney General in the house meeting.

Similarly, chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Industry and Commerce and Labor and Consumer Affairs Bimal Prasad Srivastava will also present his committee’s annual report, 2077 BS, said General Secretary at the federal parliament Dr Bharat Raj Gautam.

The first meeting of the HoR had taken place on March 7 following its reinstatement by the Supreme Court.  Lawmakers of the main opposition Nepali Congress and CPN (Maoist Center) had boycotted the first meeting.

Similarly, the second meeting held March 10 had concluded after passing a condolence motion on the demise of 14 former and incumbent lawmakers.

The third and fourth meetings of HoR had taken place on March 16 and 19.

This is the fifth meeting following the reinstatement of the HoR by the Supreme Court.
