KATHMANDU: Two suspension bridges are being constructed daily on an average at the central, provincial, and local levels of the country.

The government has set a target of constructing 600 suspension bridges in the current fiscal year.

Of these, the central government will have to build 90 bridges, the province government 16, and the local level 494 bridges, Gorkhapatra Daily reported.

Of the suspension bridges to be constructed at all three levels, 221 have been completed by January last.

The remaining 379 suspension bridges are under construction, according to the Department of Local Infrastructure under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
