Health Ministry asks labs to submit details of coronavirus infected



KATHMANDU: It has been found that some people have claimed corona insurance without being infected, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Joint-Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, said that the Ministry in course of verifying the details of infected found that some people have claimed corona insurance even though they were not infected.

Out of 18,000 reports, the Ministry has already verified the details of more than 15,000.

Adhikari shared, “A team comprising the representatives of Beema Samiti and Ministry has been verifying the details of those claiming the insurance with the record of infected people kept in the Ministry.”

“In the course of verifying the documents, some people have no documents regarding the confirmation of virus and some documents have no matching date of test and the Ministry has asked the labs to send the test details conducted within a week”, he mentioned.

The Joint-Spokesperson said, “The labs have not sent the test details at the National Public Health Laboratory and Epidemiology and Disease Control Division and the coronavirus infected people would not get corona insurance if the labs do not send factual details within a week and the labs would be responsible for it.”

Dr Adhikari further said that the affiliation of the labs would be scrapped if labs do not send the details of infected people regularly.

The Ministry has also requested all to make arrangements in an easy and clear way to understand the details of the verified applicants as well as those who are in process to claim insurance. RSS
