NEPSE gains a modest 7.90 points, closes at 2,765.43



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), which declined on the first day of the trading week Sunday, has risen modestly on Monday.

NEPSE increased by 7.90 points today with the index closing at 2,765.43 points. The NEPSE index had dropped by 11.60 points to 2,757.53 points Sunday. The transaction amount Monday also fell compared to Sunday. The transaction amount Monday was limited to Rs 3.929 billion.

The Sensitive Index, which measures the trading volume of large companies, fell 1.21 percent to 519.46. The float index rose 0.34 points and the sensitive float index rose 0.06 points.

Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited (MLBL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 344 million closing at a market price of Rs. 740 per share. The units of Global IME Samunnat Scheme 1 (GIMES1) traded the most.

Manushi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (MLBS) gained 10%, thereby hitting the positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Everest Insurance Company Limited Promoter Share (EICPO) lost the most 4.14%.
