Nepal loses World Cup Asia qualifier to Hong Kong



KATHMANDU: Nepal has lost to Hong Kong by six wickets in the first match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia qualifiers.

Following the target of 105 runs set by Nepal, Hong Kong completed it by losing 4 wickets in 18 overs.

Mariko Hill top-scored with 42 in Hong Kong’s victory. Carrie Chan added 17 and Natasha Miles added 16. Nepal’s Kavita Kunwar, Sita Ranamagar and Sabnam Rai took one wicket each.

Earlier, after losing the toss at the ICC Cricket Academy in Dubai, Nepal lost three wickets in the allotted 20 overs and scored 104 runs. Sita Rana Magar scored 40 runs for Nepal. Similarly, Indu Burma scored 31 runs. Carrie Chan and Betty Chan took one wicket each for Hong Kong.
