NC leader Singh requests Deuba, Poudel to opt for retirement from politics

KATHMANDU: Central member of NC and former Vice President Prakash Man Singh has requested Party President Sher Bahadur Deuba and senior leader Ramchandra Poudel to opt for retirement from politics. Leader Singh hinted at filing his candidacy for the party president in the coming 14th general convention.

He argued that he was qualified to be party president so that he would run the party in line with policy and norm. Leader Singh arrived at Dhading to meet district leader Ramnath Adhikari, who has been bereaved of mother.

Singh accused the party leadership of failing to keep party in right direction. “Not old but new leaders in the party who are devoted to party organization should take leadership now,” he said, stressing the need for holding the party general convention in time by settling the dispute in remaining three districts.

He expressed worry over recurring deferral of the general convention. The party leadership could act as per report of the task force formed to settle dispute. Singh asserted that he was the leader after Deuba and Poudel in party.
