Maoist Center to take initiatives for unity and polarization of communist forces

The party appoints province committee office bearers and district in-charges



KATHMANDU: The Standing Committee (SC) meeting of ruling CPN-Maoist Center has decided to take initiatives for creating a communist center by holding talks with communist forces in the country.

The SC meeting held at party’s central office at Paris Danda, Koteshwor, Sunday also appointed office bearers in the provincial committee and in-charges in the district coordination committee.

According to Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the spokesperson of the party, Sunday’s SC meeting picked in-charge of the province and district coordination committees as per the directives of the Central Committee. He informed that the meeting also assigned the responsibilities to all the central committee members.

“As per the Central Committee meeting’s directive, the vacant positions of the office bearers of different provinces, district in-charges and heads of party departments has been assigned by the SC meeting,” Spokesperson Shrestha said after the meeting.

He added that the districts which do not have the central committee members have been assigned central committee representatives to act as in-charges there.

Ganesh Sah has been picked in-charge in Province 2, Hitman Shakya in Bagmati Province, Hitraj Pandey in Gandaki, Chakrapani Khanal in Lumbini, Shakti Bahadur Basnet in Karnali and Khagraj Bhatta in Sudurpaschim Province. Shrestha added that in-charge for Province 1 will be finalized in few days.

Spokesperson Shrestha informed that election rules and directives have been prepared for holding ward, municipality and province level conferences focused on the national convention and it will be sent to the lower level soon. He claimed that the expansion of the government would be completed soon despite some delays.
