UML Chairperson Oli declares amnesty to all disgruntled leaders

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has announced a general amnesty for disgruntled leaders of the party.

Addressing an event held on the occasion of Pushpa Lal Memorial Day on Thursday, the UML chair said, “Recalling that Pushpa Lal Shrestha sowed the seeds of present-day UML and Madan Bhandari cared for and strengthened it, I would like to urge the disgruntled friends to unite for the sake of the party. Amnesty is granted to all.” He added, “Whatever happened in the past is past, let’s come together now and move ahead.”

Meanwhile, Oli also objected to calling his statements’ as proverbs. “My statements contained the truth but as the critics did not understand them, they termed them as proverbial pieces.”

Stating the UML was born out of a great struggle and that no one could tear it apart, he said “Small disagreements here and there could not disintegrate the UML movement.”
