Black Fungus claims 43 in India



NEW DELHI: As many as 43 people have died from Mucormycosis, also called Black Fungus, in India so far.

Black Fungus has been found in the people especially those who recover from COVID-19 pandemic.

Experts have said that the Black Fungus is the byproduct of excessive use of medicine by COVID-19 patients during their illness.

It does not only damage the eyesight but also take the life of the patients.

Black Fungus has claimed lives of 43 people so far and infected a total of 45,374 people so far in the southern neighbor, said the Ministry of Health of the India Government.

This disease is found normally in the people 12 to 18 days after recovering from COVID-19.
