21 ministers losing jobs today, says Maoist Center Chair Dahal

SC hearing writ against cabinet reformation today

KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said as many as 21 newly elected ministers will lose their jobs today.

Maoist Center Chairman Dahal leaked this information while talking to party cadres at Bishaltar in Dhading.

“Twenty-one ministers appointed unconstitutionally by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli are losing their jobs today,” said Dahal.

The SC is hearing the writ petitions filed against Prime Minister  Oli’s decision to reform cabinet today.

The apex court has called both plaintiffs and defendants in the court today for discussions.

The Supreme Court has recently reversed some of the decisions taken by the government. If the Supreme Court (SC) issued an interim order on the writ today, Oli’s decision to reform cabinet will be invalid.

On June 8, a single bench of Justice Ishwor Prasad Khatiwada had issued a show cause notice in the name of the defendants behind the reformation of the cabinet within 15 days.

Legal practitioners including senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi had filed a writ petition against the cabinet reformation mentioning the President and the Prime Minister as defendants.

The complainants in the writ have demanded an interim order on the cabinet reformation arguing that a caretaker Prime Minister cannot reform the cabinet.
