KATHMANDU: The floods in the Bhote Koshi River seriously have posed a threat to the under-construction 102 megawatt Middle Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project.

The floods in the Bhotekoshi River had occurred due to the incessant rain in Tibet.  The floods have broken the dam of the project site and some other facilities, said Bishnu Bahadur Khatri, the manager of the project.

Earlier, the dam had been broken down and been reconstructed.

The swollen river is likely to wash away the dam again if immediate measures are not adopted.

The Bhote Koshi floods have put over a dozen hydropower projects in jeopardy.
