India’s COVID-19 cases plumetting

NEW DELHI: Southern neighbor India has witnessed a sharp decline in the number of COVID-19 infection cases, of late.

India recorded 39,096 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 29,973,457.

Earlier, the daily infection cases had reached up to 400,000.

Currently, 670,998 are undergoing treatment at various isolation centers and hospitals. Meanwhile, 28,913,191 have returned home after treatment.

Similarly, the number of deaths from the coronavirus in India has crossed the 389,200-mark.

With 846 deaths in a single day, the number of deaths from the virus has reached 389,268, according to the latest figures collated by the Worldometers.

Broken out in Wuhan City of China in December 2019, the coronavirus has killed 3,888,306 and infected 179,239,660 globally until the filing of this news.
