First shipment of health supplies from US arrives Kathmandu.



KATHMANDU: The first consignment of COVID-19 health supplies, provided by the United States government, has arrived in Kathmandu Saturday.

According to Ministry of Health and Population sources, a representative of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the US Embassy handed over the supplies to Health Ministry Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwar Gautam at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Kathmandu.

An American cargo plane brought the medical supplies to Kathmandu. The supplies include surgical masks, face shields and gloves, among others.

Earlier, the United States had provided 100 units of ventilators, test kits, PPE and oxygen equipment to the government. According to the sources, USAID will deliver 1,000 units of oxygen cylinders on Sunday.

The US cargo plane will be bringing two more shipments within two days.
