Bagmati UML PP Board seeks clarification from 14 PA members



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML Parliamentary Party (PP) Board of Bagamati Pradesh has decided to seek clarifications from 14 Provincial Assembly (PA) members, close to Madhav Kumar Nepal, for going against the party candidate in National Assembly (NA) by-election held on May 20.

The meeting of Bagmati UML PP Board chaired by Chief Minister Dormani Poudel at his residence in Hetauda Saturday decided in this regard. UML candidate Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ lost the NA by-election after voters aligning with the Nepal faction voted for opposition candidate Khim Lal Devkota, ensuring his victory.

Clarifications have been sought from Ashta Lakshmi Shakya, Arun Nepal, Rajendra Pandey, Rachna Khadka, Kusum Karki, Munu Sigdel, Basundhara Humagain, Laxman Lamsal, Indramaya Gurung, Krishna Prasad Khanal, Basanta Manandhar, Shanti Ram Poudel, Parvati Silwal and Mina Gyawali.

All 14 PA members have been given 24 hours to clarify their reasons.
