KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav has point out a serious flaw at the parliamentary system itself behind the failure of almost the two thirds majority government.

Issuing a press note following the announcement of the mid-term polls by President Bidya Bhandari on Friday midnight, Biplav said his party has arrived at a conclusion that the parliamentary system does not suit the interest and need of the Nepali people  in the present context of Nepal.

Bipalv, in the press note, has asserted that the time has come to grant an opportunity for the Nepali people to choose either scientific socialism or broker capitalism through a referendum.

Meanwhile, he made it clear that his party is ready to cooperate for the formation of a national consensus government if other parties agree to go for the referendum.

“The broker capitalism which began roughly from 2073 BS does not suit the interest and need of the Nepali people in the present context. It has been proved after the almost two thirds majority government failed to run until the full term and opted for the mid-term elections. The fault, however, does not lie with any person or the party but with the parliamentary system itself,” reads the press not.

He has underlined the need to hold a referendum for the people either to go for scientific socialism or broker capitalism to bail the country out of the current imbroglio.
