PM Oli and Nepal share a moment to catch sight of Dharahara from a hotel window

KATHMANDU: In what could be termed as a positive gesture, CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal took a view of the almost complete Dharahara Tower from the window of Hotel Marriott, Nagpokhari on Thursday.

A picture of Prime Minister Oli and UML senior leader Nepal watching the tower has gone viral today. It seems that they are talking about the tower, which is being inaugurated on Saturday.

Leader Nepal seems to say something while PM Oli is listening to him.

The picture was taken prior to holding a one-on-one meeting between the two leaders.

Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Surya Thapa tweeted saying that Prime Minister KP Oli and former Prime Minister and Member of Parliament Madhav Kumar Nepal jointly view the newly constructed tower in Sundhara from the window of the meeting room of the Marriott Hotel in Nagpakhari.

Meanwhile, talks between Prime Minister Oli and senior Nepal are underway at Marriott Hotel in Nagpokhari aimed at thrashing out the intra-party differences.

The two heavyweights had held a meeting at the same venue on Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday evening, the two leaders reportedly held serious deliberations on ways to manage the internal strife in the party.

In the meeting with Prime Minister Oli Wednesday, Nepal had reportedly floated his views arguing that the CPN-UML should be returned to the same status of May 16, 2018, but Oli rejected it flatly.

The two leaders had exited the hotel in a gay mood and PM’s special financial advisor Moti Dugad told media that he perceived the meeting was overall positive.

This was the first time that they sat for a dialogue after the dissolution of the House of Representatives last December.
