KATHMANDU: Home team Nepal is taking on Malaysia in a cricket match under the Tri-Nation Series on Thursday.
The match between Nepal and Malaysia will begin at TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur at 1 pm.
Nepal has already entered into the final with two wins and one loss. Nepal made it to the final after the match between the Netherlands and Malaysia ended in a draw on Wednesday With two losses and one draw, Malaysia has already lost the journey to the final.
If Nepal wins today’s match, it will climb atop the points table. Earlier, Nepal had defeated Malaysia by nine wickets.
The Netherlands is in the first position with five points from four matches – two wins, one draw and one loss. Similarly, Nepal is in the second position with four points from three matches – two wins and one loss while Malaysia is at the bottom with one point from three matches – two losses and one draw.
In the match held at TU Cricket ground, Kirtipur, the Netherlands posted a total of 107 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in 13 overs. The overs were reduced after the match was affected by rainfall.
But based on the Duckworth Lewis method, Malaysia got a revised target of 120 runs in 13 overs. The target was again revised to 92 runs in 10 overs. However, Malaysia managed only 91 runs in 10 overs, that led to the match ending in a draw.
With the draw, the Netherlands climbed atop the points table followed by hosts Nepal.
