NC protests against Minister’s interference at TSC

KATHMANDU: Main Opposition party Nepali Congress (NC) has raised serious objections against the allegedly undue pressure Education Minister put on the office bearers of Teachers Service Commission (TSC).

Issuing a press statement on Monday, NC Education Department’s Secretary Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel has objected to the Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha’s undue pressure on the committee assigned to recommend office-bearers’ name.

“We have learnt that Education Minister has been repeatedly putting pressure on the recommendation of the selection committee comprising the Tribhuvan University Vice Chancellor and Education Ministry’s Secretary to change the recommendation,” NC statement reads, “We demand the completion of selection process as per the Education Act 1971 and Teachers Service Commission Regulations 2000.”

Earlier,   a committee formed as per the Teachers Service Commission Regulations (9th Amendment) 2015 had recommended Madhu Prasad Regmi for the post of Chairman and Dr. Dilli Ram Rimal and Nanda Kumari Maharjan as the member of the Commission.
