TU Central Library provides free digital readings of foreign publications

KATHMANDU: The Tribhuvan University Central Library (TUCL) has launched software providing students access to foreign books and journals for free digital readings.

Students can now access books, documents, and journals of foreign publications through the remote access system developed by the library. The system is supported by Project Database Software.

The Library had procured the software from the UK at a cost of Rs 3.2 million. Library chief Purnalal Shrestha said students of TU constituent colleges and of other Universities which have an agreement with the library can have access to this facility.

Students should fill-up the form available on the library’s website www.tucl.org.np to read books, journals, articles, and write-ups published by foreign writers. Being based on the filled form, students will get their email ID to access such documents.

The system which was launched four months back has now email IDs of 30,000 students.

Over 50,000 e-books, over five million e-thesis and dissertations, thousands of journals, articles, magazines and write-ups are available on the database.
