Biplav urges PM Oli to release his cadres



KATHMANDU: General Secretary of the formerly outlawed Communist Party of Nepal (Biplav group), Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav has met Prime Minister KP Oli and demanded the release of his party comrades from jail.

According to sources, General Secretary Biplav reached at PM Oli’s official residence in Baluwatar on Monday morning seeking the release of his comrades.

The government and Biplav’s party had signed an agreement on March 5.

As per the three point agreement, Biplav group agreed to pursue peaceful politics by renouncing violent activities, the government lifted the ban on the party, yet the government has yet to release all prisoners and scrap cases filed against outfit leaders.

The source said that PM Oli has given assurance to release the leaders soon.
