PM Oli calls Security Council meeting on Tuesday



KATHMANDU: Amid the ongoing political crisis, Prime Minister KP Oli has called a meeting of the Security Council on Tuesday.

The meeting dubbed as “regular” has been called for 9:30 am Tuesday, sources have said.

The meeting will discuss the current political developments and the upcoming elections.

Foreign Minister Pradip Gyawali, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa will attend the meeting.

There is a constitutional provision for the National Security Council to be chaired by the Prime Minister to formulate policies related to the overall national interest, security and defense, and to recommend to the government for the mobilization or control of the Nepal Army.
