40 foreigners, including 19 Chinese deported from Nepal in three months

KATHMANDU: Nepal has deported 40 foreign nationals, including 19 Chinese in three months.

The Immigration Department said 40 foreign nationals were deported from October to December — a majority of Chinese nationals.

According to the Department, the Chinese nationals were deported from Nepal on the charge of overstay.

Among the 19 Chinese nationals deported, three were involved in human trafficking and organized crime.

Meanwhile, 13 foreign nationals have been deported for overstaying during this period.

Likewise, others include four US citizens. While three have been deported for overstaying in Nepal, one was found guilty of drug offenses.

Similarly, while two Australian, two Yemeni and two Pakistani nationals have been deported, two French nationals have been sent back for overstaying in Nepal in this period.

According to the Department, one each from Mauritius, Romania, Vietnam, Brazil, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Congo, Jordan, and Estonia were deported from Nepal.
