Nepal’s internet penetration reaches 81 pc

KATHMANDU: Internet access has reached 81 percent of the total population in Nepal.

According to the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), internet access has reached 24.347 million people in the first five months of the current fiscal year.

Internet access has increased by 10 percent when compared to the same period last year. According to NTA, internet access had reached 72.42 percent as of the same period last year.

Likewise, fixed broadband access is 21 percent while mobile broadband access is 59.67 percent.

At the same period last year, fixed broadband access was 15.53 percent and mobile broadband access was 56.42 percent.
