Oli pursuing regression to end democracy and federalism: Mahato

SAPTARI: Senior leader of the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Rajendra Mahato has said that they are fighting to defeat the regressive step by Prime Minister KP Oli.

Speaking at a press conference held at Rajbiraj in Saptari on Friday, Mahato said that democracy and federalism were being attacked, adding that they were in a fight to protect them.

He accused PM Oli of pursuing a path of regression to end democracy and federalism.

Stating that the restoration of the House of Representatives (HoR) is the way out of the current political problem, Mahato said that they are hopeful that the court will find a way out of this problem and come to a decision in favor of the constitution and democracy.

Stating that they will accept the verdict of the esteemed court, he responded that in a democracy, one should not run away from the election.

In another context, he said that the present government was working to bring bitterness in the relations between Nepal and India by restricting the movement of people across the border.
