No-confidence motion tabled against Bagmati CM Poudel



MAKWANPUR: A no-confidence motion has been registered against Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Dormani Poudel on Friday.

Lawmaker Arun Nepal tabled the no-confidence motion in the provincial assembly meeting with the signatures of 45 lawmakers arguing that Chief Minister Poudel could not live up to the expectations of the people.

A provincial assembly slated for February 1 will discuss the no-confidence motion.

Poudel has proposed Astalaxmi Shakya as the next Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.

The main opposition Nepali Congress who can play a decisive role on this issue is still undecided.

A meeting called by NC President Deuba at Budhanilkantha could not come up with a concrete decision on it.

According to a Central Working Committee (CWC) member of the party privy to the meeting, the party will take official decisions as per the decisions taken by the parliamentary party of the province.
