Parliament’s Business Advisory Committee meeting begins, UML also participates

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Federal Parliament’s Business Advisory Committee (BAC) has started at the Federal Parliament Building, New Baneshwor.

According to sources, in the BAC meeting called to discuss on the agenda for the House of Representatives in this session started on Tuesday.

CPN-UML which has been protesting in the parliament since September 8 has also participated in the meeting convened by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.

UML has sent Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai, Krishna Bhakta Pokhrel and Lal Bahadur Thapa to attend the meeting. The meeting started at 12 pm at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor.

However, UML parliamentary party deputy leader Subash Nembang said that his party would continue protest at the parliament as in the past.

Due to the continuous obstruction of the main opposition party UML, the functioning of the parliament has been affected. UML has been saying that it will continue protest in the parliament until the Speaker Sapkota takes action against the 14 defecting lawmakers including Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal.

Leader Nepal and Khanal have established CPN-Unified Socialist after revolting from the UML.
