Incessant rain wreaks havoc in Mahottari, damages 11 houses

JANAKPURDHAM: Incessant rains since Monday have damaged 11 houses, incurring a huge loss of properties in Mahottari district.

The inundation induced by the rains destroyed houses belonging to Manoj Yadav, Rabi Yadav, Maitun Khatun and Ram Ekbal Yadav in Bhangaha municipality-6 in Sangrampur.

Similarly, five houses belonging to Rahul Kumar Jha, Niro Devi Mandal, Nanda Mukhiya, Ramchandu Yadav and Sanjiv Yadav in Balawa municipality.

Likewise, the incessant rains damaged two houses – one belonging to Mahindra Mahato and the other to Jaherul Rain in Manarashiswa municipality-3 and 8, said police.

According to DSP Prakash Bista of District Police Office, Mahottari, property worth Rs 1.2 million was destroyed after 11 houses collapsed in the disaster.
